Waddesdon Manor was built in the 1870s for Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild to house his superb collection of 18th-century art treasures and entertain the fashionable world. A French Renaissance style château, it has one of the finest Victorian gardens in Britain, an Aviary and Wine Cellars. With so much to enjoy Waddesdon makes a perfect day visit, but can also be combined with tours to Oxford, Bicester Village, Stratford and other National Trust properties.
