This week we took our guests for a trip into London. With the choice of visiting Sea Life Aquarium or Shrek’s Adventure! This was a real opportunity to learn more about the product we sell. These past couple of weeks has been pretty windy to say the least, so making our way down the river was a bit of a challenge! It’s always great to visit some of the Merlin attractions and stood outside the entrance to Shrek’s Adventure! the view of the London Eye over the River Thames isn’t too bad either! We were lucky enough to have tickets for both, so our guests had their pick of attraction, meaning that they could find out a little bit more about the products we sell.

“Shrek is a fun experience for any young ones. You start off making your way around the attraction where you are greeted by a lady from far, far away. You are then taken on to a 4D bus ride where you are whizzed through on a bus by Donkey. The rest of the attraction involves live actors, where you must try and escape from the witches and a mirror maze. Be careful not to get lost!”

Shrek’s Adventure! is always a good laugh. Even though the attraction is most suited for kids, it’s fun for everyone. The effort put in by the live actors has guests of all ages belly laughing, we definitely were! It brought out the big kids in us, especially on the simulator bus ride, which takes you to ‘Far Far Away’. Everyone gets involved and this attraction doesn’t miss a beat!

Sea Life London Aquarium is just as jaw dropping! From the moment you step through the doors you’re greeted with a tunnel of sharks! You have to work up the courage just to walk over it but it’s well worth it. There is so much to see, more than just the most well-known animals, and they’ve thrown some really interesting facts in there too! The chance to stroke a starfish was a bit daunting but nonetheless a very cool experience. Seeing the great work that Sea Life does first hand makes it worth every penny.

Just above Charing Cross station is the beautiful Amba Hotel. From the moment you step through the doors, you fully escape the busy streets of London. As soon as we entered the tea room the hanging chandeliers were the first thing you see, closely followed by the elegant table settings and lovely decor. It certainly made a change from my everyday dinner setting!

The afternoon tea at the Amba Hotel was amazing. A lovely choice of tea and coffee to enjoy, selection of
sandwiches, cakes, macaroons and the choice of fruit or plain scones. But I do love the Devon way! Cream must be first!”

The afternoon tea itself was full of all the classic pieces – everything from finger sandwiches to scones, it made everyone feel very quintessentially British. The quality and quantity of food was perfect! If anything there was a little too much food, but as I’m sure you can imagine, it was too delicious to leave any behind. We were greeted with a glass of Prosecco, which was a real crowd pleaser, then followed with a choice of teas and coffees. With everyone settled in we got well and truly stuck into the treats and I can’t speak for everyone here but I was stuffed!
