Built as a coaching inn in the 18th century, Sevenoaks and the Royal Oak Hotel practically grew up together. The oaks got blown down but this Sevenoaks hotel is still flourishing. Hand on heart, Queen Victoria did stay here when she visited Knole House - which you might like to do too.
Now just because it was good enough for she who was often not amused, that doesn’t mean anybody can rest on their laurels. You’re five minutes drive from the M25 and you’ll find the hotel is calm and orderly, quiet and well run. If mentally, you’re considering becoming a monk, this is the place to recharge your batteries. Who needs all-singing, all-dancing after a hard day’s work or sightseeing. Special directions
From the M25 exit at junction 5 onto the A21 and take the first exit onto the A225 to Sevenoaks. Follow the slip road and all signage for Sevenoaks. At the end of the road at the roundabout turn right following the sign for Sevenoaks (You will see a Harvester on the right). Continue past the Train station. Continue through the town centre. The road narrows and you’ll see a church on the right. The Hotel is 100 metres further on the right hand side. The Car park entrance is in between the hotel and the Royal Oak Tap Pub.
