The locomotive hauling the train will be King Arthur Class 30777 Sir Lamiel. Built in 1925 by the Southern Railway to haul express passenger trains across the country, Sir Lamiel is the only survivor of its class and is part of the National Collection.
Leaving London Victoria at 11.00 (approx) the train will be picking up passengers at Tonbridge and traveling through the Kent countryside where you will enjoy fabulous views with the odd puff of smoke drifting passed the window and able to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of a working steam engine reaching speeds of up to 65mph.
After a memorable trip the train returns to London Victoria at 16.30. The sight of a steam train pulling into a station attracts crowds to watch these magnificent machines which embody the romance of travel.
On joining the train you will be greeted by our friendly and efficient staff who will look after you throughout the day.In the best traditions of great rail journeys the world over our Premier Dining service allows you to entertain your loved one in style. The dining cars are attractively laid out with crisp tablecloths, flowers, gleaming glass and cutlery. A four course lunch will be served accompanied by coffee and chocolates. Our train has its own specialist onboard kitchen where our chef prepares your meal.
In First Class passengers are seated in private compartments for up to six people. A glass of champagne and fruit juice is served along with tea and coffee. A dedicated steward will take care of your orders for alcoholic beverages or keep you topped up with complimentary tea and coffe.
In Standard Class passengers are seated at tables for four in open carriages. Hot and cold drinks and light snacks can be purchased from the licensed buffet car.
